A natural death song

Roy Duncan

A letter to the Natural Death Centre.

Could I nominate a song for a Natural Death Centre Award: Let's try to build a love affair by the Exotics.

It was recorded in 1968. The original is on Excello 2292, but it can also be heard on The Heart of Southern Soul Volume 2 ACE CD CHD 601).

'One day we will leave and never come back'

I couldn't even try to describe the voice and music, but there's a line in it which runs

I know we're all familiar with the fact,

one day we will leave and never come back

The title may seem prosaic, but I would like to suggest any music lovers listen and see if they agree with me-there's a feeling akin to Fine Black Lines ed: the book about one woman's struggle with cancer which won a Natural Death Centre award in '96).
