Registering a death outside your area

From a notice put out by Green Undertakings and from an item in the Funeral Service Journal (May '97)

In the UK, it is now permitted for relatives to register a death other than within the district where the person died, thus potentially avoiding lengthy journeys. The registrar will pass the information on to the 'home' registrar, who will post the relative the death certificate a few days later. (It is as well to be aware that this could delay funeral arrangements.)
