The Problem:
Make ads be for socially healthy products
The Social Invention:
Ads have a big effect on what we decide we want. If there was an environmental and social board that looked at all products that were going to be advertised and gave a stamp of approval to those that were ok, then magazines , tv channels, radio shows could decide that if they were going to be board certified, then they would only run ads that had been selected to be ok.
Could be an interesting addition to the work of existing advertising standards agencies...

I think the best way for this to happen would be to have someone from each ad agency, say the creative director (as these are the guys who say yeh or ney to an advert in the first place) and they meet up every now and then to decide on what should go

Subject: advertising standards
I was never aware that there are agencies which handle advertising standards. In the U.S. I believe any quality issues are considered in-house. Am I wrong?
