The Problem:
Compassion fatigue. Tsunami crises forgotten when news programmes deem it to be un-newsworthy.
The Social Invention:
I'd like to see a yearly fundraising target set to ensure that collection of funds continues into the future. There may be a problem that the target would be reached and then contributors would think 'job done' but I think in the long term more funds could be raised.
To keep the fundraising newsworthy, a section of the fundraising could be directed to a specific cause - rebuilding a school, for example.
