| The rating system on the Global Ideas Bank has changed, so here's a brief FAQ to help explain it. 1) How do I give an idea a rating? On the right-hand side of the idea text is the "Rate This Idea" box. You can give an idea an overall rating out of 10, and choose to give it a rating for humour, originality and feasibility. 2) Why the categorised rating? It helps us separate content out for different audiences. Some people are interested in the crazy ideas that make them laugh; others are looking for ideas that can actually be put into practice. Also, even if you don't like an idea overall, you might want to acknowledge how original it is..... 3) What if I don't want to give a rating for humour? Then don't. Some ideas are probably not suitable to be rated by humour, so just ignore it, or pick the "N/A" rating (not applicable). The same goes for the other categories: the only one you have to give for your vote to be counted is the overall one. 4) Do I have to register to vote? No. You only have to register if you want to submit an idea, post a comment, chat in the forum or receive ideas by e-mail....however, members' votes (those who have registered) count double. 5) How often can I vote? Once a month per idea, to prevent rigging, although you can, of course, encourage your friends to vote for your idea or a particular favourite. 6) How does the site use the voting statistics? We use the ratings to pick out ideas that might be ripe for development (those with a high feasibility rating) and for the "People's Choice" award for the idea with the highest rating in the annual period from June to June each year. |
