Until I encountered Nicholas I had noidea what I was. I have always known that I was an inventor, like my mother and her father, but instead of inventing machines my mind seemed to turn to schemes for living life in different ways. For the first 50 years of this life I had no idea what kind of life I was living - after encountering Nicholas and the Global Ideas Bank I knew at once that I am a social inventor. In this sense Nicholas gave my life meaning. Because of events that have overtaken me for the past few years I have not participated in the Ideas Bank since 2000, and when logging on a few days ago to re-establish contact I was stunned and saddened to learn that Nicholas has been taken away. Few people live their life in such a way that they continue to inspire and move people from beyond the beyond - Nicholas was one of these few. He will be missed, remembered, mourned, and emulated by all of us who care deeply for others. Thank you Nicholas. Godspeed.
