It would appear from feed back from crematoria that the reason that cartonboard coffins have not been too popular in the past is due to the fact that a 100 per cent card coffin does not take too kindly to the 900 degrees C on opening of the cremator door. The lack of physical strength for the smooth introduction of the remains presents a distressing problem (except in the case of automated inductors) for crematoria operators. It seems that the rigidity of our 'Celtic Caskets' solid base eliminates this induction problem by having similar attributes to those of the conventional coffin. As one crematorium manager recently stated, "yours eliminates this 'crumple zone' problem".
We are also now introducing the alternative eco-approach for those choosing cremation. We are making extremely high class solid wood caskets specifically designed to house the 'Celtic' eco inner.
From chapel of rest to crematorium the 'presentation casket' is on view.
Once moved from the catafalque to the cremation point, the outer is removed, allowing the eco-coffin to proceed to the cremation. The 'presentation' casket is then reserved for future families' use.
