I simply want to tell you how much joy and excitement I get from your anthology Poem for the Day. You really have succeeded splendidly in transmitting your poetry fever through this book; and I now ask myself why on earth I let so many years go by without the intense pleasure of reading poetry.
I must have done quite a bit when I was young (now aged 66) for many are familiar friends, but the ones new to me are equally gift-like.
Poetry really does make real, I discover, the fact that we connect across time and space. It's very moving to receive a 'message' - some feeling or idea beautifully and aptly expressed - from a poet of the 14th century. I have decided that poems are 'telegrams from the soul'.
I do thank you for this lovely collection and the way you have presented it.
